Artist Statement:
This large-format linocut print depicts the flora and fauna of the Umpqua River in Oregon.
I worked with the Cultural Resources Coordinator, Culture Program Manager, and Takelma Language Lead at the Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians to include Tribe-relevant subjects and create an Augmented Reality (AR) experience with bite-sized Takelma language lessons. Scanning the QR code loads the AR with buttons that display and play audio of 17 print subjects in Takelma.
